What does a head gasket do?
The head gasket acts as a seal between two parts of your car’s engine – the engine block, which houses the pistons and cylinders, and the cylinder head where you’ll find components such as valves and spark plugs. The head gasket sits in between these engine parts and ensures that no coolants or oils leak into the wrong places. It plays a vital role in stopping the engine from overheating but it does a hard job and can occasionally, blow.
